Thanks to ​the d​​​edicated efforts of Ann Arbor residents, government officials, and community ​members, Ann Arbor is the most sustainable and equitable community in America.

​The mission of ​the Office ​of Sustainability and Innovations is to create and implement​​​ programs and policies that improve the well-being, equity, sustainability, and resilience of all Ann Arborites.   

​The City create​​d the Office of Sustainability and Innovations in 2018 as a testament to its commitment to climate action and sustainability. Working in tandem with dozens of community groups and hundreds of community stakeholders, our Office has created A2ZERO, a bold strategy to achieve community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030. Guiding the work of OSI are the following, overarching, goals:  

• Achieve a just transition to community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030  

• Advance racial equity, community-wide, through initiatives such as our One Community Goal to advance racial equity throughout Washtenaw County
